Raeford council joins state'run recovery program, adopts Resolution #2020-13

Councilman John Jordan moved to approve the resolution and the related Memorandum of Understanding; Councilman Robert Conoly seconded. The motion carried unanimously (4-0), with Councilwoman Mary Neil King and Councilman Wayne Willis recorded as absent.
The resolution authorizes the city to work with the Center on a scope of work that outlines tasks for the Center and for the City or project partners, and commits Raeford to the planning process and implementation when work is completed. The CERRI program is described in the resolution as a set of planning services and technical supports designed to help small towns and rural communities recover from COVID-19'related economic impacts and build more resilient local economies.
The Memorandum of Understanding cited in the motion is on file with the City Manager. The council recorded its adoption of the resolution as part of the Jan. 7 special meeting proceedings.
