Waupaca County Board approves multiple ordinance amendments, renews lake landing leases

At its June 17 meeting the Waupaca County Board approved amendments to five chapters of the county code, authorized the UWEX CY2025 contract, reappointed two members to the Board of Adjustment and renewed Dake and Minor Lake Landing leases in a 22-1 vote.
County Board Chair Morack called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. on June 17, 2025. The board approved its agenda and the May 20, 2025 minutes by unanimous votes and moved quickly through a set of ordinance amendments and routine business.
The board unanimously approved amendments to multiple chapters of the Waupaca County Code. Ryan Brown presented proposed text changes to Chapter 32 (Shoreland Protection Ordinance), Chapter 34 (Zoning Ordinance), Chapter 36 (Floodplain Ordinance) and Chapter 53 (Building & Building Regulations Ordinance); each amendment passed on 23-0 votes. Kristy Opperman presented amendments to Chapter 4 (Finance and Taxation), which the board also approved 23-0.
Separately, the board approved the UWEX CY2025 contract by a 23-0 vote. The meeting minutes identify the contract by the UWEX shorthand; the transcript does not expand that acronym.
The board approved renewal of the Dake and Minor Lake Landing Lease Agreements after a staff presentation. The motion to renew the leases passed 22-1. The minutes record the motion and the tally but do not attribute the lone dissenting vote to an individual in the transcript.
The board also reappointed Art Richardson and Michele Strebe to the Board of Adjustment for three-year terms ending June 30, 2028; both reappointments passed 23-0.
