Deptford board approves multiple resignations, hires and promotions; student representative sworn in

At its Sept. 16 meeting the Deptford Board of Education approved a broad personnel omnibus covering resignations, leaves, transfers, substitutes, promotions and new hires; the high school student representative was sworn in earlier in the meeting.
The Deptford Township Board of Education on Sept. 16 approved a comprehensive personnel omnibus that included several resignations, leaves of absence, transfers and new hires for the 2025–26 school year.
Resignations approved on the agenda included Taylor Norton (part-time paraprofessional), Donna Emma (service aide), Alexandria Clark (paraprofessional), Lindsay Winter (paraprofessional, effective Sept. 30 or upon replacement), Eric Strouse (security officer, effective on or before Oct. 1), Jessica Diaz-Bass (vice principal, effective on or before Oct. 8) and Jessica Billingham (school psychologist, effective Oct. 24), among others listed on the agenda. The board also approved multiple new hires and reassignments across the district, including teachers and paraprofessionals pending criminal-history clearance, and promotion of Elizabeth Hawse from paraprofessional to special education teacher at Oak Valley.
The omnibus personnel motion was moved by Mr. Justin Green and seconded by Mr. Milton Corsey; the motion carried on the omnibus approval, with two individual subitems recorded as separate votes (Item 4k carried 8-0-1 with Mr. McCurdy abstaining; Item 7m carried 8-0-1 with Dr. Gioia abstaining). The meeting minutes record motions and roll-call votes consistent with standard personnel approvals.
Earlier in the meeting, School Business Administrator Ronald Latham swore in the Deptford High School student representative (listed in the agenda as Molly Bolger). The student representative later spoke in the reports section about the new cell-phone policy, cafeteria upgrades and students' interest in participating in future building-upgrade discussions.
Board members asked routine procedural questions about postings and documentation; no formal disciplinary action or personnel appeal was resolved in public session during the meeting.
