Deptford board approves retirements, resignations, promotions and multiple hires

The Board of Education of the Township of Deptford approved a comprehensive personnel slate at its Jan. 27 meeting that covered terminations, resignations, leaves, transfers, new hires, promotions and stipend revisions.
Agenda items recorded a termination of Employee #4282 effective Dec. 18, 2025 and resignations including Madison Kain (paraprofessional, effective Dec. 18, 2025), Sandra Pierre-Louis (bus aide, effective Jan. 13, 2026), Hayley Kane (service aide, effective Jan. 20, 2026) and the retirement of teacher Karen Ursino effective July 1, 2026. Several leaves of absence under FMLA/NJFLA were presented with start and end dates in the personnel attachment.
The board approved transfers and employment actions covering paraprofessionals, service aides, Spartan Care staff and a slate of substitute teachers contingent on required clearances. Specific hires listed on the agenda included Solomon Jones, Alexandra Jovanovic-Foka, Lauren Aponte, Danielle Tapp, Holly Trzcinski, Michele Verbeeck and multiple transportation and substitute hires. The agenda also included promotions (example: Danielle Conway to permanent substitute custodian), stipend revisions and Saturday Attendance Recovery monitoring assignments to be paid at $30/hour.
The personnel motion passed on the roll call recorded in the minutes as 7-0. Two settlement agreements related to due-process hearings were listed under student items and were recorded separately in the minutes with one abstention by Mrs. Gray on those two items.
