Clovis Unified board certifies Measure A bond election, approves easement and several contracts

The Clovis Unified Governing Board on Feb. 5 voted unanimously to certify the Nov. 5, 2024 Measure A bond election, approve a pedestrian easement to the City of Clovis and authorize several contracts and professional services, all by 5-0 votes.
The Clovis Unified School District Governing Board unanimously adopted Resolution No. 4026 on Feb. 5, certifying the Nov. 5, 2024 general obligation bond election and continuing the Measure A Citizens' Oversight Committee.
The motion to adopt Resolution No. 4026 passed 5-0 and was moved by Board Member Tiffany Stoker Madsen and seconded by Board Member Clinton Olivier. The board recorded its vote as Ayes: Combs-Flores, Fogg, Moore, Olivier and Stoker Madsen; Board Members Hugh Awtrey and Wilma Tom Hashimoto were absent.
At the same meeting the board adopted Resolution No. 4028 approving the conveyance of a pedestrian-access easement to the City of Clovis for APN 550-020-47T. The board also approved several procurement and professional-service items on the action calendar, each by a 5-0 vote: an increase to the Soliant Health, LLC contract for American Sign Language interpreters; an agreement with Hanna Interpreting Services covering Feb. 1, 2025–June 30, 2026; and authorization for the superintendent or designee to enter into a design-services agreement with Darden Architects for the Nelson Elementary School modernization project.
Board members framed these approvals as necessary to support district accessibility services, planned capital improvements and post-election oversight. No public comments were recorded on the easement during the public hearing conducted earlier in the meeting.
The board also approved the non-award of Bid No. 3007 (rebid of district fleet vehicle replacement) and granted a provisional internship permit for a recommended teaching candidate. All listed action motions were recorded as passing 5-0.
