Taylor council approves reappointments, library appointment and multiple vendor contracts

The council reappointed Ron Moran, Timothy Schramm and Rich Todd to redevelopment authorities and approved the 5-year appointment of Britney Carmona to the Taylor Library Board, swearing Carmona in during the meeting. A council member noted Carmona also serves as a magistrate in the 23rd District Court. "Raise your right hand and repeat after me," the clerk administered during the oath; Carmona then took her seat on the board.
Council members approved several procurement and budget items. The police department received approval to purchase Magnet Forensics Axion software and training, with the police chief saying the tool "allows us not only to extract data from mobile devices ... [and] analyze that logically so we can use them in criminal investigations." The council also approved acceptance of academy tuition and salary reimbursement for a sponsored police…
