Arizona Senate recognizes Business and Professional Women during National Women’s History Month

Alston told fellow senators that BPW has a long history in Arizona public life and outlined the organization’s mission: to promote women’s full participation in the workplace through advocacy, education and information. "Their vision is to promote full participation, equality, and economic self sufficiency in women," Alston said, and she described BPW’s platform as focusing on pay equity, affordable health care for women and their families, and equal rights and remedies.
Alston cited historical examples of BPW members who advanced into public office and said the organization continues to train and advocate for women across the state. President Pro Tem and other members of the Senate briefly recognized the guests and invited them to stand so the chamber could acknowledge their visit.
The recognition was ceremonial and no formal action or legislation was taken during the presentation. The Senate proceeded to other business on the calendar and adjourned until March 26, 2026.
