Deptford schools to expand Holcomb routes and GCIT buses; board holds closed session on residency and student matters

Ronald Latham, the district's School Business Administrator and board secretary, told the Board of Education of the Township of Deptford at its Aug. 19 meeting that routing for the 2025-26 school year is complete and focused on neighborhood zoning.
Latham said drivers completed dry runs and provided suggested revisions, that bus passes will be distributed via Genesis by the end of the upcoming Monday, and that bus-stop appeal procedures have been posted to the district website. He told the board the district is "more than doubling the amount of Holcomb routes" for the upcoming school year and increasing Out-of-District busing to Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) from six buses to ten to continue transporting courtesy routes.
Following that operational update, the board voted unanimously to enter closed session at 6:46 p.m. citing N.J.S.A. 10:4-12 to discuss residency reports and student matters. The board returned to public session at 7:52 p.m. and adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
