Deptford board approves multiple retirements, leaves, promotions and hires

The Deptford Township Board of Education approved a broad set of personnel actions at its Nov. 18 meeting, including terminations, resignations, retirements, leaves of absence, transfers, promotions and multiple new hires to fill vacancies for the 2025–26 school year.
Among the personnel motions the board approved were the termination of Employee #4106 (bus driver, effective Oct. 16, 2025); the resignations of Francis Kryszczak (service aide) effective Nov. 5, 2025 and Bridget Roberts (paraprofessional) effective Nov. 26, 2025; and the retirements of Nora Meixner (teacher) and Janice Brown (paraprofessional), both effective July 1, 2026. The board also approved a number of transfers within early childhood and middle/high school programs and authorized multiple hires, including school psychologists, nurses and long-term substitutes, contingent on criminal-history clearance and required paperwork.
The board approved numerous leaves of absence with varying start and end dates as shown on the agenda; many were listed as FMLA, NJFLA or medical leaves and several were intermittent or noted as revisions to previously approved leaves. Where the agenda did not provide a single consolidated date, minutes list the range or note that the detail is "informational only."
The board also ratified coaching assignments and volunteer coaches for the winter 2025–26 sports season and approved Title I‑funded salaries for intervention teachers and paraprofessionals totaling $462,979.45 (amounts and accounts were listed on the agenda). The personnel motion carried on the superintendent’s recommendation (roll call vote 8-0).
The personnel approvals included administrative contract adjustments previously approved at a special meeting, and the board amended the start date for Carisa Rose as School Business Administrator/Board Secretary to Dec. 15, 2025, pending County Superintendent approval.
