The Deptford Township Board of Education on Dec. 16 approved a construction proposal from W.J. Gross to alter the main office and add a security vestibule at Good Intent Elementary School at a cost of $898,600. The project will be paid through Fund 12: Capital Projects.
The board also appointed Garrison Architects as the district’s Architect of Record effective Jan. 1, 2026 through Dec. 31, 2026. The Health and Safety Evaluation of School Buildings Checklist for the 2025‑26 school year was accepted as part of the buildings and grounds items.
The board voted unanimously to accept the construction proposal and the checklist. The meeting minutes list the construction amount and indicate the proposal includes labor, materials, allowances and bonds under a CCESC procurement contract. A separate safety contract for CRG mapping evacuations at $820 per building was approved for the district’s eight school buildings.
The approvals move the project into the capital execution phase; the board did not provide a construction start date in the minutes. The board entered closed session later in the meeting for legal matters and reconvened before adjourning.
