Milan holds public hearing on proposed 2025–26 city budget

City Administrator Jim Lancaster and consultant Carrie Sha of Plante Moran presented the status of the proposed 2025–26 City of Milan budget at a public hearing during the May 6 council meeting. Lancaster and Sha reviewed current city revenues and expenditures and answered council questions about the budget outlook.
The hearing provided an opportunity for the council to hear the administration’s fiscal assessment; no budget adoption or vote occurred during the meeting. Mayor Ed Kolar and council members thanked staff for the review and noted the council will consider next steps as the budget process continues.
The council set its next regular meeting for May 20, 2025; no formal budget action was reported at the May 6 session.
