Oscoda County approves EDC board appointments and acknowledges two district court resignations
Summary

At the March 10 meeting the board accepted recommendations from Economic Development Corporation (EDC) leadership and moved to recommend the appointment of Christine Curley to the Oscoda County Economic Development Corporation & Brownfield Board for a five-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2030. The motion (Handrich/McCauley) carried with four yes votes.
The board also voted to reappoint Ashley Morris to the EDC & Brownfield Board for a seven-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2033 (motion McCauley/Handrich), and that motion carried 4-0.
Court Administrator Tom Pratt informed the board of two personnel resignations: Heidi VanWagner, a part-time temporary District Court Clerk, effective Feb. 20, 2026, and Heather Blundell, a full-time District Civil Clerk, effective March 4, 2026. The board acknowledged both resignations by motion; both acknowledgements carried 4-0.
The motions to recommend appointments and to acknowledge resignations were recorded on the meeting docket; further steps for filling the court positions or completing EDC appointments will follow standard appointment and hiring processes.
