Clovis Unified board seats trustees, elects Yolanda Moore president

The Clovis Unified Governing Board on Dec. 13 administered oaths of office to newly seated trustees and elected officers for a one‑year term.
United States Magistrate Judge Stanley A. Boone performed the oaths for Wilma Tom Hashimoto (Trustee Area 2), Hugh Awtrey (Trustee Area 4), Steven G. Fogg, M.D. (Trustee Area 5) and Yolanda Moore (Trustee Area 7), who were seated under resolutions adopted by the board after the district reported unopposed or insufficient nominations (Resolutions No. 4018 and 4024). The board then unanimously approved officer nominations, electing Yolanda Moore as board president, Steven G. Fogg, M.D. as vice‑president and Hugh Awtrey as clerk.
As part of annual organization business, the board also confirmed appointments to several joint subcommittees, including reappointments and new assignments to the Clovis City Council/Governing Board joint subcommittee and the Fresno City Council/Governing Board joint subcommittee. The board approved representatives to the CART Board of Directors and the CSBA Delegate Assembly and named voting representatives to the Fresno County Committee on School District Organization. All motions recorded in the minutes passed by recorded votes of 5–0 where shown.
Superintendent Corrine Folmer, Ed.D. called the meeting to order and managed the formal seating and nominations. The board set its regular meeting schedule for July 2025 through June 2026 and scheduled the next annual organization meeting for Dec. 12, 2025.
The meeting reconvened from closed session at 12:07 p.m. and adjourned at 1:26 p.m.
