The Eagan City Council granted a conditional‑use permit on Dec. 2 for a specialty veterinary dermatology clinic to operate at 2795 Pilot Knob Road in a neighborhood business zone.
Planner Schultz explained the site is a roughly 1.5‑acre property with a 14,500‑square‑foot office building; the applicant proposes to occupy the westerly half of the building. The use is allowed in the zoning district as a conditional use; the Planning Commission held a public hearing Nov. 25 and recommended approval.
Dr. Lisa Reiter, one of the applicants, said she is a veterinarian and board‑certified in veterinary dermatology; Dr. Sarah Bancroft, also board‑certified, attended and said the practice will focus on small animals and outpatient care. Schultz and the applicants said no outdoor pet exercise area nor overnight boarding is planned and that the applicant will make only interior modifications to convert previously medical use space.
Councilmember Pocken moved approval and the council voted to grant the CUP. City staff said parking and site access meet code and that the clinic will occupy an existing commercial tenant space next to a children’s therapy provider.
