The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission approved its meeting agenda and the November minutes by voice vote and then voted to appoint alternate Nasik to a full commissioner seat following the December 1 resignation of Commissioner Kevin Hamlin.
Procedure and outcome: Committee member (speaker 3) moved to approve the agenda; the motion was seconded and approved by voice. Committee member (speaker 3) later moved to approve the November minutes, a motion seconded by Committee member (speaker 4) and also approved by voice vote.
Resignation and appointment: A staff member announced that Commissioner Kevin Hamlin had resigned effective Dec. 1. The staff member asked the commission for a motion to appoint the alternate, Nasik, to a regular commissioner seat. Committee member (speaker 4) moved the appointment; Committee member (speaker 7) seconded it. The commission approved the appointment by voice vote.
Commissioners took a moment to thank Hamlin for his service; the staff member recounted Hamlin’s record since 2022 and noted his participation on other local commissions. The commission will continue regular business at its next meeting, including staff presentations and capital project updates.
