Community development staff told attendees they will present two quasi‑judicial items to the commission on Jan. 29: a revised site plan for an overflow parking lot at Caporella Park and a special-exception application for a Scooter’s Coffee drive‑through proposed at 8201 N. Pine Island Road.
"We'll have the site plan presented by the contractor, that is representing the city for the overflow parking lot," Kent Wallia said, describing the Caporella presentation and listing components staff will review, including parking spaces, landscaping and gates to demonstrate code compliance. He said the minor site plan for the overflow lot will be part of the quasi‑judicial hearing.
On the Scooter’s Coffee application, Wallia said the proposal is for a drive-through coffee shop at a former 7‑Eleven site and that the minor site-plan review is underway; the applicant will present a demonstration of circulation and compliance at the hearing.
Both items are scheduled for public hearings with applicant presentations and staff testimony; no final decisions were made at the workshop.
