Tamarac staff say BSO contract now includes 30‑day removal notice; returns to commission Dec. 10

An update to the district‑chief section of the City of Tamarac’s agreement with the Broward Sheriff’s Office was presented at Monday’s staff workshop. Tanya Sterling, assistant to the city manager, said one edit was made: section 10 now requires the sheriff to provide a 30‑day notice to the city manager for removal actions under specified subsections.
Sterling told staff the rest of the contract remains consistent with the negotiated edits presented at the Oct. 22 commission meeting and the revised agreement will be brought forward for consideration at the Dec. 10 commission meeting. A commissioner asked staff to double‑check whether an earlier draft included a 15‑day notice; Sterling confirmed the current change is 30 days and said staff would verify prior materials.
No vote was taken at the workshop; the contract returns to the commission for formal action on Dec. 10.
