Senate advances teacher-licensing bill and places several measures on later calendars

The Colorado Senate used the committee of the whole to advance a set of bills on second reading and to manage its calendar for the coming days.
Senator Wallace took the chair as the committee of the whole and led the body through second-reading consideration of the consent calendar. House Bill 10 90, concerning teacher-licensing requirements, was moved for passage on second reading and adopted without discussion; the committee reported the bill passed second reading and ordered it revised and placed on the calendar for third reading and final passage. The committee of the whole report was adopted with a recorded count of 33 ayes, 0 nos and 2 excused.
The majority leader moved to lay over the third-reading calendar and a number of bills (including Senate Bills 63 and 134 and others) to March 27 and March 30 to retain their place on the calendar; the motions were adopted by voice vote. The body also introduced Senate Bill 149, concerning pathways for individuals with mental health disorders, which was referred to the Judiciary Committee.
Separately, the Senate adopted House Joint Resolution 10 21 supporting farmers markets and encouraging the Department of Agriculture to partner with the Farmers Market Association; the resolution passed unanimously and cosponsors were added by unanimous consent.
The Senate adjourned and will reconvene at 9 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2026.
