Donations and property accepted: the board accepted a $2,000 donation from Bernatello’s Pizza, Inc. to support the Sheriff’s Office Therapy Dog/Peer Wellness Program (Resolution No. 10); a $3,000 donation from Kwik Trip, Inc. for the Sheriff’s K9 division (Resolution No. 11); 40 Kwik Trip-only gift cards valued at $1,000 from Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAV) Chapter 53 for veteran fuel assistance (Resolution No. 12); donated water-patrol equipment from the Towns of Farmington and Dayton estimated at $19,000 (Resolution No. 13); and two donated ambulances/vehicles from Gold Cross Ambulance Service, Inc. (a 2013 Ford van valued at an estimated $25,000 under Resolution No. 14 and a 2008 Chevy van valued at an estimated $20,000 under Resolution No. 18). All donation resolutions recorded votes of 23-0.
Easement and ordinances: the board authorized a grant of an underground distribution easement to WE Energies for installation of underground electric utility infrastructure in the Town of Bear Creek (Resolution No. 16); the board also approved two zoning amendments: a Town of Farmington parcel from Sewered Residential (SR) to Agriculture and Woodland Transition (AWT) (petition Z-012-2024) and a Town of Fremont parcel from Rural Commercial to Agriculture Enterprise (petition by David L. & Geraldine M. Kozlowkski). Both zoning motions passed 23-0.
Contracts and appointments: the board approved RFP24-015-41 to hire Agape Mobility for a Rural Transit Feasibility Study (motion passed 23-0). The meeting record also lists multiple appointments approved by the board: Megan Strand to the Aging and ADRC Advisory Committee; Shannon Zwitter to the Transportation Coordinating Committee; Ricky Ertl to the Iola Lake District (22-0, one abstaining); Dennis Wengelski to the Pigeon Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District (22-0, one abstaining); John Miller to the Stratton Lake District (23-0); and Judy Suhs to the Chain O’ Lakes District (21-0, two abstaining for that appointment).
