Waupaca County approves $45,000 contingency transfer to buy water-patrol boat

The Waupaca County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously May 21 to transfer $45,000 from the county contingency fund to an equipment account to buy a boat for waterway patrols.
The resolution, introduced by the Law Enforcement Committee and moved for adoption during the meeting, says the expenditure was not anticipated in the 2024 budget and that the county expects partial reimbursement over five years from a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Water Patrol Grant. The fiscal note attached to the resolution says the 2024 contingency fund would be reduced to $56,000 if the transfer is approved.
Chair David Morack announced the motion and the board approved it 22-0. The resolution directs the $45,000 to Outlay–Specialized Equipment account number 11-23-52141 860.0 to fund the purchase.
The resolution was recommended for introduction by the Waupaca County Law Enforcement Committee and the Finance Committee. No amendment or alternate funding source was recorded during the meeting.
The board moved on to other agenda items after adopting the resolution.
