Eagan council approves package of land‑use permits, continues three easement hearings

The Eagan City Council on Nov. 3 approved a package of land‑use permits and an amendment to a reciprocal parking easement, while holding three public‑hearing items for final‑plat review.

The council unanimously approved a two‑year renewal of an interim use permit for a parcel in the Viking Lakes campus to allow temporary outdoor storage related to the Magic of Lights event and campus maintenance through Oct. 31, 2027. City planner Barry Schultz listed the items to be stored as “4 tractor trailers, 2 ticketing huts, 1 construction trailer, 20 palletized bags of turf infill, 8 field turf cover rolls, 1 Viking storage trailer, 1 flatbed trailer, 1 yard ramp, and 3 container boxes.” Applicant Matt Slaben of MV Ventures said the event has been “extremely successful” and that the campus’ long‑term vision remains office and commercial development; the council approved the renewal but members urged the applicant to pursue a more permanent storage solution before the next renewal cycle.
