Development Director Selman told the council the final plat for property at 4324 117th Avenue was approved on Feb. 3, 2025, and city code requires recording within one year. The applicant asked for a 12-month extension to secure financing to complete conditions of the final plat, which would otherwise expire on Feb. 3, 2026.
Director Selman said the request is allowed under city code (one extension is permitted) and that the plat conditions remain unchanged. Council received the presentation, and the council approved the 12-month extension on a motion moved by Council member Newell and seconded by Council member Fleming; the motion carried by voice vote with no separate roll-call tally recorded.
What this means: if the applicant does not record the plat by the new deadline they will need to reapply for preliminary and final plat approval. Staff and the applicant will proceed with the financing timetable described to the council.
