Tamarac honors local leaders and public servants during Black History Month proclamations

Ms. Early thanked the commission and emphasized continued work to protect constitutional rights.
Commissioner Morrie Wright presented a proclamation recognizing Audley Rowland for his long career as a Jamaican entertainer and community leader. Commissioner Crystal Patterson presented honors to Cheryl Holt and the Nana Kete (Nada Kete) troupe for cultural preservation and community performances.
Dr. Keisha Daniels presented a proclamation recognizing Jerry Pinchinot for military service, public-safety contributions and community leadership. The commission also recognized choreographer Jimmy Locust for arts education and youth empowerment; Locust and other honorees addressed the dais with brief remarks.
Later, Commissioner Patterson read a proclamation commending Deputy Juliana Tenalia of the Broward Sheriff's Office for a January 12 rescue from a vehicle submerged in a retention pond; the commission proclaimed Feb. 11, 2026, as Deputy Juliana Tenalia Day in Tamarac to recognize her courage and professionalism.
Ending: The commission invited honorees and their families to photos and thanked staff for organizing the month's events.
