Park staff presented an updated Park CIP budget showing $80,564 in park-dedication revenue collected so far in 2025 and reviewed current and projected commitments tied to ongoing projects such as the Blaine Baseball Complex and Jim Peterson Athletic Complex.
Jerome explained how park-dedication credits work when developers donate land and provided current fee figures: residential dedication is about $4,889.41 per dwelling, commercial is roughly $6,000 per acre and industrial about $8,200 per acre. He said planning provided placeholders for operating revenue projections beyond 2026 and that staff will revisit the dedication fee schedule with planning in January.
Commissioners discussed fund timing, the option of internal transfers if unexpected revenue appears in 2026, and an informal board goal to maintain about $1,000,000 in the account as a cushion. Jerome noted that carryover funds are supporting in-progress projects and that some money remains earmarked for those projects.
The board asked for more precise commercial and industrial figures to be provided to members; staff said it would supply exact amounts. The board agreed to consider fee adjustments at the January meeting.
