Jeff Davis EDC authorizes new signer, advances staffing and keeps office location

At its June 11 meeting the Jeff Davis Parish Economic Development Commission voted unanimously to add Cesilee Oliver as an authorized bank account signer and as an authorized credit card holder.
The motion was made by Dr. Shane Fontenot and seconded by Will Hetzel; the record indicates the motion passed unanimously. The commission also approved routine agenda items and minutes from April 9, 2025, and noted the May 2025 financial report was not available for presentation.
In old business, Will Hetzel and Chairman Kendal Henry reported they had reviewed the budget with CPA Greg Marcantel and worked toward funding a retail position. The commission offered Linda LeBlanc the position of Office Manager, with related expenses coordinated through the Tourist Commission. Kendal Henry reported the Jeff Davis Economic Development Commission and the Tourist Commission will remain located at the office in the park.
Staffing and outreach: the record notes Cesilee Oliver has begun meeting with stakeholders and that a meeting with a Louisiana Rural Development team was scheduled for later the same day. Henry also reported meeting with representatives from the Louisiana Development office to explore state funding opportunities.
Administrative notes: the board set its next meeting for noon Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at First Guaranty Bank and reminded members that online ethics training is due by Dec. 31, 2025. The commission then moved and approved adjournment.
