The Jeff Davis Parish Economic Development Commission unanimously approved its July 2025 financial reports, a revision to the 2025 budget, and a resolution to join the Municipal Employees’ Retirement System Plan B at its Sept. 10 meeting in Jennings.
The motion to approve the financial reports was made by Dr. Shane Fontenot and seconded by Beth Daigle; the motion to adopt the budget amendment was made by Ronnie Petree and seconded by Skip Broussard. Commission minutes state the budget amendment reflects a revenue increase tied to recently approved landfill funds and includes higher payroll and payroll-related expenses. A separate motion by Ronnie Petree, seconded by Dr. Shane Fontenot, approved the resolution to join Municipal Employees’ Retirement System Plan B.
The minutes record all motions passed unanimously.
