EDC member resigns; O'Reilly's permit approved and new truck stop opens in Jeff Davis Parish

At the start of the Nov. 12 meeting, Chair Kendal Henry announced that Police Jury representative Chrystal Breaux resigned from the Economic Development Commission effective that day.

Welsh Mayor Karl Arceneaux said a new truck stop has opened and that the former Cajun Tales restaurant is expected to reopen as a Mexican restaurant in approximately two months.
Announcements included a reminder from Richard Arceneaux (the minutes list him in the attendance as attorney and later identify him in the announcements as Clerk of Court) about the Nov. 15 election; Chamber Director Jeanne Boudreaux invited members to a Dec. 8 Chamber Christmas social and a Feb. 10 Legislative Breakfast. The minutes also note that Ethics online training must be completed by Dec. 31, 2025. A motion to adjourn, moved by Skip Broussard and seconded by Beth Daigle, passed unanimously.
