The Jefferson Davis Parish Tourist Commission approved two $2,000 marketing grants and took several operational actions, including authorizing pond fountain repairs and scheduling a Fall Flea Festival.
Commissioners voted unanimously to award $2,000 marketing grants to the SWLA Cajun Music Jam "Battle of the Bows" and to the Cajun Rodeo Association, and to pay the first installment of $1,500 for each grant. The motion to approve the grants was moved by Jeremy Doucet and seconded by Kayla Doga.
On facilities, the commission authorized Director Carter Prejean to proceed with repairs to the two pond fountains after a motion from Ronnie Petree, seconded by Kori Myers. Commissioners also approved holding a Fall Flea Festival on Nov. 1, 2025 (motion by Ronnie Petree, seconded by Kori Myers).
The minutes record these actions as passed unanimously. Staff were directed to proceed with the repairs and to coordinate festival planning and promotion with the marketing team.
