The Jeff Davis Economic Development Commission voted unanimously Aug. 13 to approve prior meeting minutes, accept the fiscal 2025 compilation report and approve May and June 2025 financial statements.
Sarah Werner of Langley, Williams and Company presented the compilation report and reported there were no findings. Dr. Shane Fontenot moved to accept the report; Skip Broussard seconded the motion, which passed without objection. Earlier in the meeting Ronnie Petree moved, and Will Hetzel seconded, approval of the minutes for June 11, June 17 and July 9, 2025; that motion also passed unanimously.
The unanimous votes completed routine fiscal oversight steps for the commission. The financial approvals keep the commission's records current as staff pursue ongoing projects and grant applications. The commission also approved the financial reports for May and June 2025 after a brief review; Ronnie Petree moved the approval and Dr. Shane Fontenot seconded.
The commission adjourned after setting its next meeting for noon Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at First Guaranty Bank. Members were reminded that online ethics training must be completed by Dec. 31, 2025.
