The Jeff Davis Parish Economic Development Commission approved routine administrative items and two amended joint service agreements at its Oct. 8, 2025 meeting in Jennings.
Chairman Kendal Henry called the meeting to order. A motion by Ronnie Petree, seconded by Skip Broussard, passed unanimously to approve the minutes of Oct. 8, 2025 as presented. A subsequent motion by Dr. Shane Fontenot, seconded by Will Hetzel, passed unanimously to approve the minutes of Sept. 10, 2025. The commission also unanimously approved the financial reports for August 2025 on a motion by Dr. Shane Fontenot and a second by Ronnie Petree.
On separate motions the commission approved amended Joint Service Agreements between Jeff Davis Economic Development and two local entities. Ronnie Petree moved to approve the amended agreement with the Jeff Davis Landfill; Dr. Shane Fontenot seconded and the motion passed. Dr. Fontenot moved to approve an amended agreement with the Jeff Davis Tourist Commission; Skip Broussard seconded and the motion passed.
The meeting closed with scheduling and procedural announcements. The commission set its next meeting for noon on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at First Guaranty Bank and reminded members that state-mandated Ethics Online Training must be completed by Dec. 31, 2025. Skip Broussard moved to adjourn; Will Hetzel seconded and the vote to adjourn was unanimous.
