Fulton County OKs new heat pump, boiler and acoustic panels for county buildings

Fulton County commissioners voted March 17 to approve three vendor quotes to address heating, cooling and acoustic needs in county facilities.
Building and Maintenance Director Brad Seville presented the vendor proposals. The board approved a Shearer Plumbing and Heating quote for a 3.5‑ton Lennox heat pump — including indoor and outdoor units, line set, pad, Honeywell thermostat, drain work, fittings, low‑voltage wiring and labor — for $18,460. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved the heat‑pump motion and the board voted unanimously. The motion included direction to work with Fulton County Family Partnership to assist with the purchase.
Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved and the board approved a second Shearer Plumbing and Heating quote for a commercial boiler, which includes teardown and removal of the old unit and time‑and‑materials, at a cost of $24,434.00. Commissioners also approved a purchase from American Micro Industries Custom Components for acoustic panels for the main conference room and business office at $2,188.00.
The approvals were recorded in the minutes as unanimous 'All in favor'; no member recorded a dissenting vote. Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed was present for the facilities discussion, which also noted a separate maintenance‑truck issue raised by Seville.
