Fairfield Jr.-Sr. High posts 100% graduation rate; district to celebrate in February

Fairfield Jr.-Sr. High School reported a 100% graduation rate for the most recent senior class, Superintendent Dr. Carrie Cannon told the board, a milestone the administration said reflects multi‑year work on instruction and student supports.
"As you know, we had 129 seniors last year, and we had 129 of those students graduate," Principal Jason Grasty said, noting no dropouts and no waivers in the cohort. Assistant Superintendent Monica Kegerreis said the district was among the largest class cohorts in Indiana to achieve 100% with no waivers and that the district was number one for schools with no waivers for the largest cohorts.
Administrators credited sustained PLC (professional learning community) work, early RtI interventions and outreach efforts — including summer outreach to students who needed to make up work — for helping students stay on a graduation pathway. Dr. Cannon said the district will mark the achievement with a celebration in the high school cafeteria in February.
District staff also noted that ILearn Checkpoint 2 will occur the week of Jan. 26 and that teachers continue to analyze NWEA midyear data to target instruction. The announcement was presented during the Superintendent’s report and drew board acknowledgment but no formal vote.
