The Spencer‑Owen board approved personnel recommendations (items a, b and c) as a single motion during its Dec. 11 meeting; the motion passed by roll‑call vote, 7–0.
During administrator comments, a staff member identified as Chris thanked trustees Rick, Dina and Steve for staffing the recent Career Expo, reporting approximately 170 students attended with about 30 careers represented. Superintendent Klein then delivered the superintendent's report: he said band and choir concerts were rescheduled for next week because of impending weather and that notifications had been sent via ParentSquare. Klein also thanked Doctor Latta, Mr. Kramer and several principals for collaborating on decisions to ensure student safety.
Klein reported that the YMCA has resumed swim instruction beginning with middle‑school students and that the initial sessions "have gone over very, very well," saying students are learning water safety and swim skills. The superintendent characterized the arrangement as a partnership the district intends to expand.
The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn passed 6–1 (Jack voted no). The board announced its next meeting — the Jan. 8, 2026 reorganization meeting at Central Office.
