Board accepts resignations, appoints coaches and reiterates stance on snow‑day e‑learning

The North Central Penn School Corporation board accepted multiple personnel resignations and approved several athletic and program appointments during its February meeting. District staff reported resignations including the cafeteria manager and two middle‑school cheer coaching positions; the board voted to accept those resignations.

The board approved four appointments at the high school: show choir choreographer Carrie Rogers, volunteer assistant track coach Marty Broger, head cross country coach Nick Weiner, and head football coach Kevin Temple. The board congratulated the new appointees on the record.

On curriculum, staff presented 2026–27 items that included principles of exercise science, a medical‑exploration class, and clarified work‑based learning hour guidance; the board approved the curriculum package. Staff said the Patriot Academy will expand course offerings to include manufacturing, engineering, automotive education and potentially digital technology/business.

During announcements staff described the district’s position on snow‑day policy and e‑learning preparations. A district presenter stated, "kids need to be in school, period," while noting the district had one snow day remaining and was prepared to use e‑learning if necessary. The board also heard a public comment from Patrick Cruz requesting the baseball facility be named for longtime athletic director Henry Ayers; staff recommended follow‑up outside the meeting to pursue options.

The public work session closed with a motion to adjourn to executive session, which the board approved by voice vote at 6:31 p.m.
