Staff said the MOU has been under development for months as the district added the field house and other outdoor facilities to the campus. District staff members overseeing the agreement told trustees the MOU clarifies responsibilities for scheduling, access and any shared operational details with the town.
"My recommendation again is to approve this MOU with the Town of Speedway," a staff member said during the presentation.
A trustee moved to approve the agreement as presented; another trustee seconded and the board voted 4-0 to adopt the MOU.
Why it matters: the MOU formalizes coordination between the school district and municipal officials for shared use of major new facilities, clarifying scheduling priorities, liability and operational oversight as the district begins regular community use.
The board packet included the updated MOU; staff said implementation details will be managed by district administration and the town's representatives.
