The Board voted 3-0 to approve the Feb. 25, 2026 minutes; the motion was made by Marvin Kropke and seconded by Judith Freyman. The Board voted to issue an Order of Remand on the petition filed by Ali Reza Tehranian (1844225); the motion was made by Chair Ed Lowry and seconded by Marvin Kropke and passed 3-0. The Board also voted 3-0 to deny the Petition for Reconsideration in the matter of Tad Van Nguyen (1628750) on a motion by Marvin Kropke, seconded by Judith Freyman. For West Coast Drywall & Paint (1660543), the Board voted to take the petition under submission (motion by Judith Freyman, seconded by Marvin Kropke; vote 3-0).
Members reviewed numerous ALJ decisions and settlement orders across multiple cases and issued Decisions After Reconsideration as amended in select matters; the meeting record attributes those motions to Marvin Kropke with a second by Judith Freyman and 3-0 votes where specified.
On administrative follow-up, Executive Officer Scott Pease reported that the transcript from the Stakeholders' Roundtable has been circulated to attendees and asked recipients to report typos or errors to OSHAB so amendments can be made. Staff Counsel Karen Halbo said she is reviewing the Stakeholders' Roundtable transcript and will circulate proposed regulatory amendments among the legal team for review.
The Board also heard public comments: Jeremy Lawson (Chief of Safety and EMS programs, Cal Fire) spoke about respirators and face masks for firefighters engaged in wildland firefighting, and Rocio Reyes reported the Division is hiring three new attorneys who will start in March and April.
The Board adjourned its closed session at 11:08 a.m. and the public meeting at 11:09 a.m.
