Raeford closes out FY2017 Robbins Heights CDBG-NR housing rehab grant; funds aided four households

Raeford council opened and closed a public hearing Oct. 7 to close out the City’s FY2017 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant Neighborhood Revitalization (grant #17-C-2996).
Mr. Gail reported that the city received $750,000 from HUD through the North Carolina Department of Commerce. Project activities planned repairs for 10–12 homes but the city assisted four households; $410,972.87 was spent on rehabilitation and $67,500 on administration, leaving overall drawdown at roughly 64 percent expended. Final requisitions were submitted by the Aug. 15 expenditure deadline and closeout documents will be filed with the Department of Commerce by Dec. 12, 2024. Mr. Gail said the project remained in compliance with federal regulations.
There were no public comments during the hearing. Councilman Charles Allen moved to close out the public hearing and the motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
