City Manager Dennis Baxley reported that land purchased by the City of Raeford from the House of Raeford has been surveyed and could accommodate approximately 1,000 cemetery plots. Manager Baxley recommended that the city’s cemetery regulations be studied and revised as needed to govern the new property’s use.
The report was informational; the council did not take formal action at the June 3 meeting but the manager’s recommendation indicates the city intends to review relevant code sections before further decisions regarding the property.
