The Raeford City Council on Nov. 1 approved the consent agenda items V.1 and V.3–V.6, and pulled item V.2 (RLUAC By-Law Revisions, Resolution 2021-16) for legal review and further consideration.
As part of the consent agenda, the council adopted Resolution No. 2021-17 to convey surplus fire equipment to Hoke County Schools for its firefighter academy. The resolution transfers two-thousand feet of 5-inch LDH supply hose and two-hundred feet of ¾-inch rubber booster hose to the school "as is" for no consideration and authorizes the mayor to execute necessary conveyance documents.
Councilman Wayne Willis asked to add a discussion of downtown two-hour parking enforcement to the regular agenda. City Manager Dennis Baxley summarized the background — a petition and prior request dating to 2018 — and recommended the council not take immediate action but instead authorized the manager and Chief of Police Marc Godwin to review the matter and report results at the next meeting. Councilman Willis asked that the findings be brought back to the council.
The meeting closed with no public comments and a unanimous motion to adjourn.
