The consent agenda included: the Milan Flyers Annual Night Fly at the Field of Dreams on Oct. 26 from 6 p.m. to midnight; a Veterans Day Parade organized by American Legion Post 268 on Nov. 11 from about 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; an MMF Halloween fundraiser in Tolan Square on Oct. 26 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.; the Milan DDA's Moonlight Madness holiday shopping event on Dec. 14 from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; and 'Pop on Main,' a Small Business Saturday shopping event on Nov. 30 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The agenda also included the Building Department and Code Enforcement report for September.
Councilmember Snyder moved to approve consent items A through F; Councilmember Stafford seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. City Administrator Jim Lancaster thanked staff and department leads for developing the special-event framework and fee schedule that guided the approvals.
Several council members used the meeting's reports-and-comments portion to congratulate community organizers and civic groups on recent events: Councilmember Kofflin praised the Historical Society’s Third Annual Spooktacular and noted Mr. Morelock’s recent appointment as the school’s athletic director; Councilmember Stafford publicly thanked Flannery Wayne for completing boot camp and acknowledged his service.
Permits approved by the council are to be coordinated by the community engagement and communications offices, which will handle logistics and any required health and safety compliance.
