Hood River County commissioners approve consent agenda, committee nominations, Food for All support and Cascade Locks settlement

Hood River County commissioners on Dec. 16 approved several routine and substantive actions during a hybrid business meeting.
Consent agenda: Commissioner Arthur Babitz moved to accept the modified consent agenda; Commissioner Chad Muenzer seconded. Commissioners Moretti, Babitz, Muenzer and Chair Jennifer Euwer voted yes and the motion carried. The consent items covered a range of administrative approvals including surplus equipment declarations, timber sale extensions, tax refunds, grant authorizations, an intergovernmental agreement extension with Farmers Irrigation District, and approval of updated meeting minutes.
Appointments and committee nominations: The Board interviewed and then nominated Rob Peterson and Jodie Gates for Hood River County’s At-Large and Business or Labor positions on the ODOT Region 1 Area Commission on Transportation (R1ACT). The motion to nominate both Peterson and Gates passed unanimously. Commissioner Moretti nominated herself and was appointed as the alternate to represent the county on R1ACT after a unanimous vote.
Food for All support: The Board voted to approve a letter of support for the Food for All Oregonians Campaign and authorized Chair Euwer to sign the document. Commissioner Moretti moved approval and Commissioner Muenzer seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Settlement with Cascade Locks: Administrator Williams presented a mutual release and settlement agreement resolving an underpayment dispute with the City of Cascade Locks. The parties agreed to split a remaining $46,895 balance and to pay in two installments on Sept. 1, 2025 and Sept. 1, 2026. Commissioner Babitz moved to approve the agreement; Commissioner Moretti seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The Board moved into executive session at the end of the public meeting and adjourned afterward; no additional public actions were taken.
