Fulton County adopts 2026 budget with no tax increase

Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 30 adopted the county's 2026 budget and approved a Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution that keeps property tax rates unchanged for the coming year.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution, which the board passed unanimously. The board also approved the December 2025 Pension Report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston.
Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed told the board there were no changes to the proposed budget since it was publicly advertised. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget as presented by CFO Mike Lamb and Fiscal Administrator Reed; the adoption passed on a unanimous voice vote.
The board also approved routine accounts payable dated Dec. 30, 2025, totaling $112,913.87, including $98,764.92 from the General Fund and $14,148.95 from the Debt Service fund.
The commissioners followed regular procedure in adopting the budget and left open the scheduled Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026, for certain appointments and formalities.
