Crawford County supervisors approve notices, job description, trustee appointment and conference funding

The Crawford County Board of Supervisors took several routine actions and held a short discussion of the county’s Tax Abatement Program during its March 17 meeting.
Early in the session Supervisor Muhlbauer moved and Supervisor Heiden seconded approval of the Notice of Public Hearing and its publication for reclassifying 230th Street between H Avenue and G Avenue from Area Service Road B to Area Service Road A; the motion passed unanimously.
Zach Rasmussen spoke with the board about interest from T‑Mobile in leasing space on a courthouse tower. Supervisor Heiden moved and Supervisor Rosburg seconded that Rasmussen may communicate the county’s interest to T‑Mobile, subject to a satisfactory lease agreement; the motion passed unanimously.
The board approved the Zoning Administrator/GIS Specialist job description on a motion by Rosburg and second by Muhlbauer. During discussion of the Tax Abatement Program for residential and commercial properties, board members agreed the County Attorney should be consulted about applicable codes and an upper dollar threshold; no further action was taken at the meeting.
Supervisor Muhlbauer moved and Supervisor Rosburg seconded the appointment of Mike Wingrove as a Willow Township Trustee; the motion carried unanimously. Later, Supervisor Rosburg moved and Supervisor Heiden seconded approval of an opioid funds request of up to $6,000 to cover attendance at the All‑Rise Conference; that motion also passed unanimously.
The board adjourned at 11:55 a.m.; agendas for the next meeting will be posted at the Courthouse on the Friday before the next meeting at 4:30 p.m.
