Commissioners adopt ordinance designating county park land
Summary
After a second reading and public hearing with no public comment, the board unanimously adopted an amended ordinance to designate the property as a county park and adopted an accompanying order to finalize the action.
During the June 17 business meeting the Hood River County Board of Commissioners held the second reading and a public hearing on an ordinance amending Title 12 Chapter 04 to designate county park land. County Administrator Allison Williams summarized staff findings that the designation is consistent with the parks and recreation area plan and noted the City of Hood River consented to the designation.
With no public testimony the hearing was closed and Commissioner Moretti moved to adopt the amended ordinance by title only. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Muenzer and passed unanimously. County Counsel Lisa Davies advised the Commission that an order was also required to finalize the action; a subsequent motion to adopt the order likewise passed 4–0.
The ordinance adoption will allow the county to manage the property under the existing management agreement and formally recognizes the site in the county code.
