Hood River County adopts FY 2024–25 budgets for county and special districts; supplemental budget adjustments approved

The Hood River County Board of Commissioners adopted final budgets and levies for FY 2024–25 during its June 17 meeting, approving the Hood River County general fund budget, the 911 Communications Service District budget, the Windmaster Urban Renewal District budget and the Windmaster Sewer District budget. Each adoption was moved and approved unanimously by the commissioners present.
Accountant Clayton Good presented supplemental budget adjustments that exceeded 15% for small funds: the Fair and Animal Control budgets required public hearings and were approved by unanimous vote; the Windmaster Sewer District required a similar supplemental hearing and its adjustment was also approved.
During the public comment period Judy Dutcher of Hood River Adopt a Dog asked whether a previously requested contract amendment for animal control was included; Administrator Allison Williams confirmed the current contract amount is in the FY 24/25 budget, that the fund retains a $10,000 contingency and that any contract amendment could be handled by the administrator after further discussion with HRAAD.
