Barnesville council adopts 20152016 budget, sets millage at 4.155 mills

Roberts presented the budget and the accompanying millage ordinance during the Sept. 14 public hearing; Mayor Peter L. Banks presided over both sessions. The council held no further public comment before the vote.
Adoption of Ordinance No. 548 finalizes the city's spending plan for fiscal 20152016 and fixes the property tax rate the city will levy. The minutes record the council's unanimous approval at the special meeting. The council did not amend figures at adoption and did not record any dissenting votes.
The decision completes the statutory budget process for the fiscal year and places the adopted millage and budget into the city record. The council indicated the measure will guide city spending and staffing levels for the coming year.
