The City Council on Aug. 19 adopted two budget amendments: Special Revenue Project Ordinance SR #26‑2 to appropriate the first tranche of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds totaling $789,823, and Budget Ordinance Amendment #2 to the Water/Sewer Fund to appropriate $61,000 from retained earnings.
SR #26‑2 changes the special revenue project budget to reflect an interfund transfer from the General Fund of $789,823 and records restricted federal grants of $789,733 and $90 in interest earned. The ordinance text states copies shall be furnished to the Clerk, Budget Officer and Finance Officer for direction.
Amendment #2 to the Water/Sewer Fund increases appropriations by $61,000: $30,000 to maintenance and repair equipment (M&R – Equipment) and $31,000 to equipment. The amendment draws these funds from retained earnings.
Councilwoman Mary Neil King moved to approve SR #26‑2 and Amendment #2; Councilman Charles Allen seconded. Both motions were unanimously carried. The minutes note adoption and that copies of the amendments be distributed to appropriate officials.
