Otoe County signs $907,662 in claims and payroll; IPAWS update and road report presented

The Otoe County Board of Commissioners accepted the consent agenda and authorized payment of the listed claims and payroll at its March 24 meeting.
Jennifer Bassinger, Otoe County clerk, presented the claims and payroll totals: regular claims totaled $568,922.75 and payroll claims totaled $338,739.69, for a grand total of $907,662.44. The published vendor list included, among others, American National Bank ($41,745.75), Jones Automotive ($41,572.11), Mainelli Wagner & Associates ($40,127.63), Garcia-Chicoine Enterprises ($36,428.13), Herbst Construction ($36,100.00) and a transfer to the Otoe County Treasurer of $250,000. The board approved the consent agenda by motion from Commissioner Cole with a second from Commissioner Parsons; the vote was unanimous.
Dakota Schulenberg of Cooper Nuclear presented a quarterly update on the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) implementation and told the board about planned outages and exercises connected to county alerting. Brian Briley, roads lead supervisor, delivered the roads report, noting the completion of bridge inspections and ongoing rock and tree-trimming work.
There was no public comment. Chairman Sornson declared the meeting adjourned at 8:57 a.m.; minutes were certified by County Clerk Jennifer Bassinger.
