Otoe County approves KENO grant use amendment for Transit Around Nebraska City

Doug Friedli, representing Transit Around Nebraska City, told the board the amendment does not change the amount of KENO funds requested but changes the proposed public-engagement method: the organization will conduct a public survey on public transportation rather than hold a third public forum. Commissioner Cole moved to approve the amendment; Commissioner Freshman seconded. The motion carried with votes from Commissioners Sornson, Freshman, Parsons, Crownover and Cole.
The board did not alter the dollar amount of the KENO request during the meeting. The amended use is intended to gather broader public feedback on transit needs, and the applicant said it expects the survey to provide more feedback than an additional in-person forum.
