Lake Stevens board approves $1.02 million in warrants, personnel items and multiple construction contracts

On motion by Director Vildan Kirby and seconded by Director Nina Hanson, the board approved Warrant Nos. 316268 through 316431 totaling $1,024,939.27 across General, Capital Projects and ASB funds. The consent agenda also included multiple personnel actions (temporary para hires, listed resignations and retirements), acceptance of donations from Stevens Creek PTA ($840.00 and $2,250.00) and a $1,000 Student Services Grant from the National Association of Secondary School Principals for a student project.
Director Paul Lund moved (seconded by Director Hanson) to approve final acceptance of several public works projects after the Operations Department confirmed contractors completed punch‑list items and submitted required paperwork. The board unanimously approved the final acceptance.
The board conditionally approved the use of the General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM) delivery method for the Secondary Innovative Learning Center/Central Kitchen/Mt. Pilchuck Gymnasium project (motion by Director Kirby, seconded by Director Lund) and unanimously approved awarding a public work contract for boiler room upgrades at Lake Stevens High School and a public work contract for LED lighting at Lake Stevens High School. The board also approved awarding contracts for architectural, engineering, and construction‑related services for capital construction projects.
Operations staff listed recent vendor and maintenance activity, including pool filter cleaning and temperature repairs, monthly pool maintenance, intercom and dishwasher repairs, and fire alarm troubleshooting.
No votes to table or deny items were recorded; motions passed unanimously unless otherwise noted in the minutes.
